Er wordt niet veel paling meer gevist in het IJsselmeer. De palingstand staat onder druk waardoor de weinige vissers die er nog zijn zich aan allerhande beperkingen moeten houden. Zo mag er in de maanden dat de paling vanuit het IJsselmeer naar de Sargassozee trekt helemaal niet gevist worden.

Ik twijfel of ik de rit van meer dan een uur vanaf mijn vakantie bestemming moet maken richting de Calanque des Pins. Eén uur met de auto is niet om de hoek. Ik moet er vroeg voor op staan en misschien valt het tegen. Maar misschien is het prachtig en schiet ik er een paar prachtige beelden.

Normaal gesproken post ik alleen nieuw materiaal. Maar deze periode van thuis zitten door corona brengt veel extra uren vrije tijd. Mooi moment dus om je oude archieven eens door te lopen. Een beetje opschonen en zo je opslag ruimte weer wat lucht te geven.

Mocht Santorini toch niet het verloren gewaande Atlantis blijken dan wil ik het niet horen of weten. Geef my liever het mysterie.

Walking the spanisch Basque coast neer Zumaia feels a bit like walking on the moon. The scenery is dramatic and surreal. No wonder the Game Of Thrones crew settles there to capture some scenes. It’s simply magical.

The assignment of the evening was to shoot upward to the sky and try to include one human build aspect only. I failed miserably.

Het Palendorp bij Petten. Een monument op de plek waar het oude dorp petten stond wat door de zee verzwolgen is. Sowieso al een mooie foto locatie maar met een dikke laag algen schuim nog mysterieuzer.

Seals are quite approachable there so crawling up to him a bit on the beach plus using my not to heavy Nikon 80-200 I was able to make these shots.

A great day at the beach, beautifully captured by the X100F. The clouds were very dramatic as you can see.

These are images with FujiFilm simulation ‘Classic Chrome‘ plus a touch of Clarity to bring up the sand grains a bit. The sky is pretty much as it showed that day.

We had an exceptionally good summer last year. With some of the best could formations too.

Two wise lessons I learned last year.

First: always bring your camera with you.

Second: Never EVER forget to look up.

Some early morning shots of some Dutch windmills in the Schermer lowlands close to the Beemster UNESCO world heritage. I should really go there more often as the place is beautiful and quite close to where I live.

Reworking my old photographs with current software can bring you some surprises.

These photo’s from 2012 were in my archive but I decided to give them another chance with Capture One Pro 11. It worked out pretty well.
